CHILDREN’S RIGHT TO PARTICIPATION

What We Do

Create a platform for children’s voices to promote their rights and secure their interest in national planning and policy-making.

Assist children from different social sectors to organize and carry out joint activities.

Organize leadership training for children’s groups.

Support children’s activities for promotion of social responsibility and human rights.

Impact

Over the past years children have produced a Child Rights Agenda and have presented this to the National and provincial parliaments. Their engagement with legislators drew attention to legal and policy measures necessary to ensure better protection for children and for their social rights such as education and health.

This program continues to assist children from different social sectors to organize and carry out joint activities for the promotion of social responsibility and human rights. Children’s participation has been encouraged in activities to eng ge local bodies on citizen’s rights to education and health, raising social awareness on environmental protection and impact of climate change, ending worst forms of child labour and on the standards of care and treatment of children in institutions.
