This consultation was convened under the project Exploring Legal and Social Strategies to Combat Trafficking of Women and Girls, supported by the Resilience Fund. The project seeks to identify and address the structural and operational challenges in the prevention and prosecution of human trafficking, particularly in cases involving women and girls.
Dastak in collaboration with Punjab Women Protecting Authority and with the technical support of UNFPA organized a series of two-day workshops for DWPOs in Punjab on 22-23 May, 21-22 July 2025 and and 28-29 July 2025. The initiative comprised three sets of workshops. In the first workshop, 18 DWPOs were trained as trainers, who then facilitated the subsequent workshops held in Lahore and Multan, reaching the remaining DWPOs across Punjab.
Sixteen days every year, beginning from 25 November to 10 December, are globally recognized and dedicated to raising awareness on Gender Based Violence. While Dastak works all year with the vision and mandate to respond to GBV, its team undertakes a few programs to join the annual campaign.
Dastak organized a series of activities to celebrate International Women’s Day in 2024. Each year Dastak marks this day with thoughtfully designed and planned events that are collaborative and in line with the theme and spirit of IWD.

Dastak’s senior representatives including Hina Jilani, Saba Shaikh and Sabahat Riaz held a meeting with the Inspector General Punjab police Usman Anwar to address certain pertinent matters related to women protection, security given to private and public emergency shelters and rights of political prisoners.
Dastak in Collaboration with Punjab Women Protection Authority, Social Welfare Department and Lahore University of Management Sciences organised a two-day legal experts consultation on the implementation of the Punjab Protection of Women against Violence Act 2016 on 5-6 June 2023. The consultation took place at LUMS and was attended by nearly 30 legal experts from Punjab and Sindh.
