CHILD RIGHTS UNIT

Impact Where it Matters

In 2017, Dastak added child rights as a focus to its protection activities and took over Child Rights Unit previously functioning under the AGHS Legal Aid Cell. The Organization has been dealing with protection of girls and is well able to undertake the activities already conducted by the Child Rights Unit for the protection of children in general. It also has a strong history of advocacy and training on protection related rights.

The main thrust of  CRU programs has been to contribute towards the creation of systems and institutions that increase the prospects for effective implementation of laws and sustainable initiatives for child protection.  The Unit works on the protection of children under especially difficult circumstances to bring visibility to risks and vulnerabilities that children suffer. Such visibility is critical in order to create public support for state action and social initiatives for protection and promotion of children’s rights.
