10 March 2021: Dastak Charitable Trust’s Managing Trustee, Ms Hina Jilani, received her HUM Women Leaders Award 2021 in Islamabad. The award was in recognition of her lifelong commitment to the promotion and protection of women and children’s rights in Pakistan.
16 January 2021: Representatives of Dastak Charitable Trust met the DIG Operations in Lahore at his office. They discussed the urgent need for improved security for women at government shelters as well as gender sensitization of police personnel.

Dastak has emerged as a well-recognized and respected institution both nationally and internationally. It has been featured in several documentaries, research papers and articles and is visited by many foreign and local dignitaries every year. Dastak staff is also frequently contacted by TV channels, filmmakers and journalists for its expert opinions when highlighting issues related to violence against women. Every year foreign and local journalists also reach out to Dastak to cover the shelter’s work and residents in their stories.
Every woman has her own story but not all have the opportunity to share that story. Therefore, the mission of the Nasim Digital Art Therapy Program is to elevate women through photography. Monthly-themed workshops give survivors of gender-based violence a chance to give voice to their story, showcase what the world looks like from their lens and heal from the impacts of the violence.
